4 Steps to Planning the Perfect Ocoee River Rafting Adventure
If you are excited about white water rafting with Quest Expeditions and spring just can’t get here soon enough, you can use this time to plan the perfect whitewater adventure with your family and friends! Before you know it, we will be starting another exciting season on the Ocoee River, and it will be your turn to shoot the rapids. Here are 4 easy steps to planning the perfect Ocoee River rafting adventure:
1. Select Your Date in Advance
The first step to planning the perfect Ocoee River rafting adventure is selecting the date of your trip in advance! This is especially important if you are planning a trip with a large group or want to raft on a holiday or weekend. The Ocoee River Trip is considered “the nation’s most popular” rafting trip and reservations can fill up quickly! Our Middle Ocoee Rafting Trips start as early as April, while the Full Ocoee Rafting Trips begin in May. We then operate all season long until the fall!
2. Choose Your Trip
Since we offer several different rafting trips, you will want to pick the one that is most suitable to your group! The Middle Ocoee River Trip offers 5 miles of exciting class III and IV rapids and is ideal for first-timers, friends, families, and groups. You can expect to spend about 4 hours on this excursion, including 1.5 to 2 hours of time on the actual river. The Full Day Ocoee River Rafting Trip features 10 miles of legendary whitewater thrills, including the largest rapids on the river known as Humongous! This trip takes about 6 to 7 hours, with 4.5 to 5 hours on the river.
3. Prepare the Proper Clothing
Once you have your date and trip set up for Ocoee river rafting, you can prepare the proper clothing for your time on the water! If you are planning a spring or fall trip, it is best to wear a wool, fleece, or polyester top and pants. Keep in mind you won’t want to wear cotton as it offers no insulation once it gets wet! For summer trips, you can simply wear a bathing suit, shorts, and a t-shirt. Regardless of when you are rafting with us, note you must wear some type of shoes with backs for safety reasons.
4. Stay Near the Action
If you are coming a considerable distance to experience our Ocoee river rafting trips or planning an entire weekend away, the last thing you want is a long drive home after an active day on the river! Therefore, consider staying close to Quest Expeditions with some of our recommended accommodations near Ocoee! There are various accommodations to meet your needs, ranging from campgrounds and cabins to hotels and economical group bunkhouses!
