If you’re planning a trip to the Chattanooga or Cleveland area during our off season, there are still plenty of fun things you can do! Don’t be sad that you can’t go white water rafting on the Ocoee when you could still explore the outdoors at Cherokee National Park or go wine tasting at a vineyard! Here are 5 things to do near Chattanooga during our off season:
1. Cherokee National Forest
Want to still spend time outside even though you can’t come rafting with us yet? Then you should visit Cherokee National Forest! You can take a beautiful scenic drive through the forest, or you can get out and explore the hiking trails in the area. There are several waterfalls you can hike to, and this is a popular spot for photographers and bird watchers to go. Benton Falls Trail is one of the most popular hiking trails, and you’ll also have a great time exploring the Chilhowee Trail System.
2. Ocoee Horseride
For animal lovers, a great thing to do near Chattanooga is to visit Ocoee Horseride, a horseback riding stable. Choose between a 1-hour trail ride along a privately owned trail right outside of Cleveland, or you can go horseback riding all day through the Chattahoochee and Cherokee National Forests. People of all ages will have a great time going horseback riding, and all you have to do is follow behind your guide for a fun time!
3. Morris Vineyard
Visitors who are 21 years old and up will enjoy spending a day at Morris Vineyard in Charleston, Tennessee. This beautiful winery is family owned, and all of the wines are produced and bottled on site. You’ll be able to look out at the sweeping views of the vineyard and taste a variety of the 19 different wines available.
