4 Tips for Planning an Ocoee White Water Rafting Trip Early

It’s never too early to start planning your next adventure with us! Even if you’ve never been rafting before, you can start preparing now for your upcoming trip. There are several things you can start thinking about now, long before your excursion happens! Check out these 4 tips for planning an Ocoee white water rafting trip early:

1. Learn About Different Trips

ocoee river raftingOne of the most important things you can do to prepare in advance for your rafting adventure is to learn about all the available trips. You want to be sure the trip you choose to go on is ideal for everyone going with you. At our outpost, we have a variety of excursions for you to choose from. A popular choice is the middle river trip, which is 5 miles long and takes riders through class 3 and 4 rapids. If you’re looking for a little more excitement, you can always choose the upper river trip that takes you through the Olympic white water rafting course from 1996 and the most famous rapid called Humongous. If you’re looking for an all-day trip, then you can always sign up for the full day rafting trip, where you can experience both sections of the river and get a lunch break in the middle of the day!

2. Research What to Bring

Being prepared when you’re planning an Ocoee white water rafting trip is important. One of the best ways to start thinking about your trip and getting your bearings together early is to find out what you need to bring with you when you go rafting. Of course, you will probably want to bring your bathing suit since you’ll be getting wet, but you also may want to pack some other quick-drying clothes, as well as a change of clothes once you’re done rafting. You’ll also need waterproof shoes that have a strap on the back and won’t come off as you’re out on the raft. Other items you may want to bring include synthetic long underwear for colder times of the year and sunscreen.

3. Stay in Our Bunkhouse

If you’re just planning a small family vacation or other type of trip, you can look through some local lodging so you can at least stay close to us!

4. Make Reservations Now

Another one of our best tips for starting to plan your white water rafting trip early is to reserve your spot! As soon as you decide when you want to go rafting and which trip you want to go on, you should make reservations.
